See it in action
Career Horizon is built on real experience: reviewing resumes, sitting on hiring panels, running interview prep, and living a career change firsthand. Here is some of that work.

Practising for the room, not just the questions
Career Horizon has run interview simulations for 20+ candidates, drawing on personal experience across 50+ interviews and building hiring teams for 20+ positions. That combination, practising the interview itself and knowing what the panel is actually listening for, shapes a coaching style focused on what actually gets a callback, not generic interview advice.

On the other side of the table
Career Horizon's coaching is shaped by direct hiring experience across dozens of IT roles, spanning public sector, manufacturing, construction, education, tech consultancy, and health. On selection panels, the strongest resume didn't always win the room: candidates who struggled most were the ones who couldn't explain their technical work in plain terms to a mixed panel, or hadn't prepared a clear answer for why this role, this team, right now.
- Every panel is really only trying to answer three questions:
- Can you do the job
- Will you fit the team and its culture
- Will you keep growing into the role, whether that means seeing out a fixed contract or building a long career in a permanent one

100+ resumes, one recurring set of gaps
Career Horizon has reviewed 100+ resumes for technology roles across public sector, manufacturing, construction, education, tech consultancy, and health. The same blind spots surface again and again: achievements written as duties instead of outcomes, skills lists that aren't tailored to the target role, and structure that buries the most relevant experience under the least relevant. Most candidates can't see these patterns in their own writing, which is exactly the gap Career Horizon's resume coaching closes.
A decade-long journey
Manufacturing to oil and gas to IT
A personal path across three industries and one migration to Australia. Each move meant learning to describe existing experience in a new industry's language, rather than starting over. Process discipline from manufacturing and rigour from oil and gas both turned out to be exactly what IT employers were looking for, once they were framed the right way.
